History

The 60 beautiful acres of our Oak Forest community were once Lots 32 and 33 in the 1678 division of 30-acre lots in Little Compton. The 1980s creation of the Oak Forest subdivision included Sawyer Burying Ground, also known as Rhode Island Historic Cemetery #43, which you can find on the corner of Oak Forest and Sakonnet Trail. Fifty-one homes now make up the Oak Forest subdivision and through the Oak Forest Owners Association we are all dedicated to creating a peaceful, neighborly community where we love to live.

Sawyer Burying Ground

Containing 5 field stones, the site was cleaned by Eagle Scout Zachary Eddy and Troop #29 in March of 2012.
